*Job Overview:*As an Art Specialist at Timber Lake Camp, you will be a key figure in fostering the creative spirit of our campers.
While living in a bunk with campers and counselors, your days will be spent in the Art Shack, teaching and instructing your chosen art specialization.
This role is a unique opportunity to share your passion for art, guide campers in their creative endeavors, and have the best summer of your life.
*Art Specializations:*
*Painting:* Inspire campers to express themselves through the vibrant world of painting.
Teach various painting techniques, color theory, and encourage campers to create their masterpieces on canvas.
*Stitchery:* Introduce campers to the art of stitching and embroidery.
Teach basic to advanced stitching techniques, helping campers create their own fabric masterpieces.
*Candle-Making:* Guide campers in the craft of candle-making.
From selecting colors and scents to molding and shaping, campers will create unique and personalized candles to cherish.
*Ceramics:* Explore the world of three-dimensional art with ceramics.
Teach hand-building techniques, pottery wheel basics, and guide campers in creating their ceramic masterpieces.
*Crafts:* Engage campers in a variety of craft projects, from paper crafts to mixed media.
Encourage creativity and resourcefulness as campers express themselves through a wide range of materials.
*Jewelry:* Unleash the creativity of campers through jewelry-making.
Teach basic to advanced techniques, including beadwork, wirework, and metal stamping, allowing campers to design and create their own jewelry pieces.
*Responsibilities:*
* *Instruction:* Provide comprehensive instruction in your chosen art specialization, tailoring activities to suit various skill levels.
* *Project Guidance:* Foster creativity by guiding campers through engaging and age-appropriate projects.
* *Supervision:* Oversee the safety and cleanliness of the Art Shack, ensuring a welcoming and inspiring environment.
* *Residential Living:* Live in a bunk with campers and counselors, participating in bunk activities, and contributing positively to the overall camp community.
*Requirements:*
* *Passion for Art:* A deep passion for your chosen art specialization and a desire to inspire creativity in campers.
* *Teaching Experience:* Previous teaching or instructing experience, especially in a camp or educational setting, is preferred.
* *Creativity:* Ability to develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate art projects.
