Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Planning and arranging daily pickups and deliveries with customers and drivers
- Dispatching and communicating with staff drivers for same-day request for services
- Communicating with customers and consignees for all services requests in a timely and professional manner (via email and telephone)
- Resolving service and delivery issues (via email and telephone)
- Coordinating next-day driver schedules with shipments as per customer requests
- Creating next-day routes for all staff drivers and vehicles (vans, straight trucks, and tractor trailers)
- Handling physical and digital copies of paperwork and record keeping (includes data entry)
- Other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1-year previous experience in transportation, warehousing, or freight forwarding (required)
- Minimum of 1-year previous dispatching and routing experience (required)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Outstanding written and verbal customer service skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers and management
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to problem solve and think critically
- Understanding optimal route planning considering all factors (appointments, size of freight, truck schematics, traffic flow, etc.
)
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, 9:30AM-6:00PM (with 30-minutes for lunch)
Salary:
- $20.
00-$22.
00/hour, depending on experience
