Summary:
Exemplify standards of hospitality and service to all customers.
Greet and direct visitors, patients and their families to their destinations, and be a resource for information and guidance.
Always provide exceptional customer service with every interaction.
Monitor front entrance to ensure safety.
Ensure visitors sign in/out of visiting log.
Clerical duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Greet guests entering lobby with a sincere greeting, exhibiting proper guest relations skills, and a positive approachable attitude with every interaction.
Proactively assists guests in obtaining a wheelchair, provide general assistance, or accompany guests to their destinations, as appropriate.
Take the initiative to maintain a safe and attractive environment within the facility and immediate property.
Notify security of any suspicious person or behavior, accident or circumstance that may cause damage or injury.
Provide direction or assistance to those in the lobby to ensure their safety and the safety of others.
Work closely with staff to comfort families in an effort to stabilize highly emotional situations.
Channel complaints/problems to appropriate staff; assist in resolving conflicts and be an intermediary between patients, families and staff.
Provide concierge services to patients/residents and visitors, as appropriate.
Offer assistance with complaints/concerns by maintaining knowledge of resources and service recovery procedures.
Maintain knowledge of system-wide services to assist guests in any way possible.
Provide information regarding local accommodations, travel, restaurants, directions, etc.
Display a caring and courteous attitude and represent Nuvance Health in a positive manner.
Promote and contribute positively to intra-departmental and inter-departmental relationships.
Maintain confidentiality of employees and departmental information without infractions.
Promote a safe and efficient working environment by adhering to Nuvance Health policies and procedures.
Adhere to Infection Control and Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures at all times.
Maintain appearance of work area(s) according to department standards at all times.
Adhere to all safety regulations; report any variances to supervisor immediately.
Report incidents, irregularities, unsafe conditions, equipment, and/or unusual occurrences to supervisor immediately.
Answer facility main phone line and appropriately transfer calls.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
1 year of customer service and/or hospitality experience
Basic computer literacy: data entry and e-mail
Location: Vassar Brothers Medical Center, 45 Reade Place, Poughkeepsie, NY
Work Type: Per Diem/As Needed - You will know the schedule a full month in advance
Work Schedule: Day/Eve 8
Work Shift: Variable 4-8 hr.
shifts between the hours of M-F: 5:30am-8pm and Sat.
/Sun: 8am-8pm

Salary Range:
$16 - $19 Hour
