I took these rims off of my brand new Mapex Armory Series drum set because I wanted a tighter sound, which I achieved by replacing these 1.
6mm, steel, triple flanged rims with Gibraltar 2.
3mm rims, but, I gotta say, the kit with these rims was BOOMING! My friend thought I was a little crazy for taking these beauties off, but, hey, to each his own.
I’ve got all 6 rims from the Mapex 10, 12, and 14 inch toms, top and bottom.
The 10 and 12 are both 6 lug rims, and the 14 is an 8 lugger.
They’re essentially new.
I never really have had a chance to set the drums up due to my living arrangements, but I still went ahead and swapped out the rims, because I expect to be able to play at home soon.
Meanwhile, I’ve got the rims to pass on to someone who could make good use of them.
I repacked them in the box the fatter rims came in, and that’s how you'll get 'em.
I also have the 8 lug, 16 inch rims from the same kit.
