I'm looking to rent out a room to someone who is seeking a peaceful nature sanctuary.
There are two options:
1.
Rent $1000/month
2.
Rent $600/month plus work-exchange of 20 hours per month.
(If there is more work than that, I’m happy to discuss more work and less rent money as well.
)
For the work exchange option, we will discuss! But projects might include things such as helping with:
Building things (a tent platform outdoors, raised garden beds, a small deck, a run-in)
Trail clearing and brush trimming and poison ivy pulling (I do this!)
Hanging and fixing small things inside the house
ABOUT THE PLACE:
If you love nature and want to wake up to the sounds of birds and watch the sun set from your bedroom, this is the place for you.
This 3-bedroom ranch house is on 75 acres with its own huge private swimming pond and a cedar hot tub.
The available bedroom has a twin daybed that pulls out into a king size bed, and single closet, and sliding doors that open directly onto the deck providing a private entrance.
This is an idyllic place.
You're two hours from NYC, fifteen minutes from Hudson, NY, and 30 minutes from the Berkshires.
You do need a car and you can keep it parked here in the driveway.
Amtrak goes directly from Hudson to NYC in two hours.
It's truly magical here.
Beyond belief, really.
There are two fields that make hay, and the woods have marked trails all through them and a seasonal stream.
You are welcome to garden and plant things.
I'd love that, in fact.
ABOUT ME:
I'm a successful composer, a singer, and the director of a vocal/movement ensemble.
I'm in my early forties.
I meditate, I dance, I love life and I tend to go to bed early and wake up early.
I love country life.
I also love dancing and playing music.
I work from home and love solitude, but I also love being around people and sharing this stunning space and land.
I take walks and go running.
I pray.
I have fun.
I consider my home to be a sanctuary.
I have dreams of turning this place into a retreat center.
I'm a pescatarian.
ABOUT YOU:
Ideally, you're in your thirties and up all the way into 80s, 90s, hey! Most important - you understand the reciprocal relationship we all have with the land.
You are someone who loves and cares for land, rather than seeing it as something to use or take advantage of.
You are respectful of spaces you enter.
(Please don't leave wet cups on surfaces, for example! And be willing to take off your shoes when you enter.
) You’ll be willing to take your shoes off in the house and keep your space and the kitchen clean.
You can bring your cat! If you have a dog, we'll need to discuss this.
You can OF COURSE be any gender, sexual orientation or race.
Looking forward to connecting with the person who is called to this special place.
